The newcomer of the tournament, the Dunaújváros team, dominated the EU Women Nations Cup

Last week we had another successful international tournament, this time in the women's category. Eight teams from seven different countries were divided into two different groups:

Group A: Dunaújváros (Hungary), England White, Ireland, Austria

Group B: Euskal Selekzioa (Basque), England Red, Czech Republic, Wales

Thailand was originally supposed to play instead of Dunaújváros but was replaced because they decided to withdraw from the tournament.

The tournament was held as usual in Brno, Czech Republic.

The teams played three matches each in their groups, which determined their ranking.

After finishing all games played in the group, four semi-final matches were played:

Hungary vs. Euskal Selekzioa                   16:6

England White vs. England Red                 5:7

Ireland vs. Wales                                      15:5

Austria vs. Czech Republic                       10:18

Then everything was decided. Hungary played for gold against England red, Euskal Selekzioa played for bronze against England white. The match for fifth place was between Ireland and the Czech Republic, and the match for seventh place was between Wales and Austria.

Match for 7th place:

Wales – Austria 10:6 (1:2, 3:1, 3:2, 3:1)
