THE LAST EU NATIONS TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR STARTS THIS WEEK

Brno's "Za Lužánkami" pool will once again be the venue for the traditional EU Nations tournament. This year, three EU Nations tournaments have been held in the Czech Republic, and the last one left is the men's tournament. As in the case of the junior tournament, a total of twelve teams will take part:

Group A: USA, Great Britain, Austria

Group B: Poland, Sweden, Czech Republic

Group C: Moldova, Wales, Denmark

Group D: Basque Country, Finland, England

The format of the competition will be the same as for the juniors. The group winners will then form Group E, the runners-up Group F and the third-placed teams Group G. The teams will again play each other on a round robin basis, which will determine the final standings:

Group E:         1st – 4th Places

Group F:         5th – 8th Places

Group G:         9th – 12th Places

Already in the prelimitary round we can look forward to evenly matched battles. Group A, where the winner of last year's EU Nations, USA, is located, is worth mentioning. Their opponents, however, will be Great Britain, who finished 5th at the last EU Nations, and Austria, who usually occupy the top positions at these tournaments. The US team's rival, Portugal, will not be participating in this year's tournament, having managed to qualify for the European Championships in January.

All matches will be streamed live on the "Czech Water Polo" YouTube channel, and online registration will be available on this site.

Fingers crossed for all teams!!!
